“I originally gave Axis a five-star review, not because of the clinic itself, but because of the care I received from my psychiatrist. I'm now updating that review to reflect how I was treated by Axis after my psychiatrist left the practice. After her departure, I watched through the patient portal as I was shuffled from one provider to another before my next appointment. Then, on the morning of that appointment, I received a phone call informing me that I was being discharged and needed to find psychiatric care elsewhere. Their reason? My Suboxone prescription. A prescription they were already well aware of long before deciding to discharge me. I had been receiving psychiatric treatment for years and was taking medications that cannot safely be stopped abruptly. Despite this, Axis did not provide enough medication to cover the time it took to establish care with a new psychiatrist. I went weeks without medication and became physically ill as a result. As if that weren't enough, they also terminated my access to the patient portal before I could download the clinical notes and records I needed for my new doctor. I cannot express how irresponsible and uncaring I find this entire situation. People seeking psychiatric care are often dealing with serious conditions that require consistent treatment. You can't just toss someone out of a practice without making sure they have a safe transition of care and expect there to be no consequences. What makes this even more disappointing is that I genuinely loved my psychiatrist. She was compassionate, thorough, and took my concerns seriously. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the clinic she worked for. From my experience, Axis treats patients like numbers rather than human beings. The way I was passed between providers and then abruptly dismissed made it painfully clear how little my continuity of care mattered to them. I would strongly encourage anyone considering Axis to look elsewhere, especially if you have complex psychiatric conditions or take medications that require careful management. My original five-star review was earned by my psychiatrist. Axis itself has done absolutely nothing to deserve it.”
